is you should arrest after a car crash believed to be cause bide drunk driving. jerry brown has died and a teammate, josh brent, has been charged in his death. the first hour of america's news headquarters, starts with a report from our own casey stegele, live in cowboys stadium in arlington, texas. >> reporter: yeah. cowboys stadium behind me is quiet today because america's team is in cincinnati, playing the bengal this is afternoon. but we understand the team was briefed about this tragedy before their plane left dallas yesterday, that's when they learned that one of their teammates was dead and another one was behind bar, 24-year-old josh brent is expected to post bail later today from irving, texas, where he was arrested. police there say late friday night, early saturday morning, the cowboys' nose tackle left a club in dallas, was driving above the posted speed limit, hit a curb and flipped his car and investigators on the scene believe he was drunk. jerry brown, his friend and a dallas cowboys linebacker, did not survive the crash. >> the focus from our standpoint on behalf of

arrest after a car crash that killed his teammate jerry brown. brown was just 25 years old. he was a member of the cowboys' practice squad. dominique is live in l.a. with the latest. dominique? >> hi, rick. jerry brown was a practice squad line backer. he was killed in the one-car accident around 2:20 in the morning in the dallas suburb of irving. his teammate josh brent was behind the wheel, and just the two of them were in the vehicle. the police department described how the accident unfolded. >> it appears as if he was traveling at a high rate of speed at which time his vehicle touched or impacted the outside curb of the service road causing his vehicle to flip at least one time. the vehicle ultimately came to rest on its top once it slid back into the roadway and came to rest in the center of the service road. >> they say brown pictured here during his college days was found unresponsive at the scene and once he got to the hospital he was pronounced dead. it was supposed that they were drinking at a gentleman's club, but police were unable to confirm that. >> our officers o

sentence of life in prison in the death of 7-year-old maria rid ridulph. patti ann browne from the new york city newsroom. >> reporter: jack mccullough was 17 when the 7-year-old girl disappeared and later found dead. mccullough is 73 years old and he was just convicted in her death this year. prosecutors say back in 1957 the teenage mccullough approached maria and other girl. when the other girl left, dragging maria into an alley choked her with a wire and stabbed her in the throat and chess. he dumped her body in a wooded area 100 miles away. she was found four months later. the case was unsolved for decades. mccullough's half-sister told police that her mother incriminated mccullough before her death. he was arrested tried and convicted. he claims he has an alibi at the time of maria's death. he claims he was traveling to chicago for a medical exam before joining the air force. his half-sister says he is evil and should pend spend the rest of his life behind bars. he faces a maximum life in prison. mccullough did not testify during the trial but will have a chance to speak in court. jon:

'm patti ann browne. >> and i'm heather knauer. it is saturday, december the 15th. we have a fox news alert to bring you right now. and this morning we've learned much much more about that awful tragedy that unfolded yesterday in newtown connecticut. 20 children and six adults gunned down inside an elementary school there. first, we have the latest time line emerging from the tragedy at about 9:30 a.m. classes begin at the sandy hook elementary school. it's known as one of the state's top schools. some teachers and faculty members were gathered in the main office for a meeting about five minutes later they hear gunshots and duck under tables. the school's principal dawn hocksprung is her name and school psychologist confront the gunman and become the shooter's very first victims. before she was killed, the principal likely saved many lives there by turning on the school's loud speaker so that everyone could hear and that everyone could take cover in that school. shortly after, the first 911 call started. >> police arrived within minutes. at 10:23 they enter the school and go room to room. t
